What Sandboxie Plus is

Sandboxie Plus is a program developed and improved from Sandboxie. Designed to solve various problems and add better functionality, Sandboxie allows you to run programs in separate and protected areas. This protected area prevents permanent changes to programs and other data on your computer, enabling you to test, play, and take advantage without fear of harming your machine.

Sandboxie-Plus has fixed several known issues and security vulnerabilities of Sandboxie, with the latest release adding new functionality. In particular, the new Qt-based SandMan.exe UI is more advanced than the old MFC-based SbieCtrl.exe UI. Security fixes are important because they turn off privilege escalation and sandbox escape issues available in the official build 5.33.6. There will be many other features to come. The author’s vision is to develop it into a full-featured app virtualization tool, such as Altiris Software Virtualization Solutions, which is now out of production.
