O&O RegEditor is a simple, free, portable software similar to Windows Registry Editor. Once launched, it lets you monitor system partitions, modify existing parameters, generate new values, and quickly access frequently used keys. In short, it is a more advanced version of Regedit. It’s basically fairly similar, but with more capabilities for accessing and working with data.
I indicated above that no installation is required. Download the archive below, unpack it, and execute. O&O RegEditor can be launched from a hard drive or a USB drive and shared across many computers. To modify protected partitions, you may need to run it as an administrator.
Let us take a closer look at working with the registry.
When you launch it, the primary window will show the partition structure for Windows 11 or other versions. Everything else is standard: you may create new partitions and keys, rename existing ones, delete them, and so on. If you need to alter text, multi-string, binary, or numeric values, I don’t notice any issues; everything is present. There is also a flexible search option based on partition names and criteria.
Everything found can be copied to the clipboard. Importing REG files and exporting specified settings are supported, which is a useful capability for moving configuration files or creating backups. The tool manages permissions for individual keys; however, changing access rights without understanding the effects is not recommended.

A few words on navigation:
Frequently used parts can be saved as favorites. I mentioned it earlier, but let’s take a closer look. This is required to avoid having to look for them again. The list of bookmarks can be saved or printed. The ability to copy, paste, and overwrite keys is accessible.
Naturally, before making any changes, it is recommended that you make a restore point and export the part being altered; both can be done easily from the menu.
Pros:
- No installation required. Supports basic value types.
- REG files can be imported and exported
- Performs a registry search.
- Saves keys in favorites and supports access permissions.
