I want to introduce you to a decent file manager with an interface that is clearly reminiscent of Norton Commander. Its features include plugin support, the ability to work with files with long names, the ability to assign a custom color to a file format, a built-in CD player, a competent calculator and text editor, and the ability to display pictures and video in a variety of formats. The download link for FreeCommander XE is provided below. Please keep in mind that I have not included all of the benefits; it’s also worth noting support for viewing HTML sites, the ability to follow links, syntax highlighting, and other features.
The manager features two active windows, which makes switching between them easier and file management more comfortable. You can use bookmarks to manage several secondary windows in a single window, as well as establish a folder tree for each panel. Of course, FreeCommander XE can connect to distant servers (it includes an FTP client), permanently delete files from your hard drive, split files, compute folder sizes, and even change attributes.
