ONLYOFFICE is an office suite that allows three editors to work together while documents, spreadsheets, and presentations open in tabs similar to a web browser. You no longer need to run three separate apps; everything is integrated.

In terms of formats, it works flawlessly with DOC, DOCX, TXT, PDF, XPS, DjVu, and many others. Tables in XLS, XLSX, ODS, and CSV formats, as well as presentations in PPT, PPTX, and ODP. Compatibility with Office files is good; documents do not split when opened.
Naturally, the text editor does not reach Word; there is no point in arguing about this, but there is enough functionality for the average user. Fonts, paragraphs, photos, links, diagrams, forms, and symbols are all in place. The table editor is also adequate; it offers several chart types and enough functionality to create a satisfactory report. The presentations are basic, with transition effects.
Each editor has its own options panel, and the selection of tools is not extensive. You may add comments to papers, which is important for teamwork. By the way, real-time co-editing is also enabled; you connect to the server and collaborate, and there is even an integrated chat.
ONLYOFFICE supports plugins; you can attach a translation, speech recognition, and other extensions directly in the editor. There is also a connection with cloud storage providers such as Nextcloud.

LibreOffice is a worthy solution because it is fully free and open. The capability is better than ONLYOFFICE’s, but each editor opens in a separate window, and the UI feels heavy. There is still WPS Office, which is attractive, lightweight, and has an interface quite similar to Office; there is a free version, but it contains ads and limits.
