The Microsoft .NET Runtime is the official successor to the popular .NET Framework. It also superseded the previously separate .NET Core package. This environment is necessary to run .NET apps.
Its predecessor is integrated into Windows; it is distributed and updated using the standard update procedure. This is not the case with .NET; it takes up your attention and, in short, must be updated manually, which is why we provide it here. If you wish to configure everything automatically, you’ll need to change the Windows Update settings. You can find them in options – go to the Update & Security tab, then Advanced options, and click the appropriate box.
