The program allows you to record the sound of a real amp, cabinet, or pedal and convert it into a digital replica that can subsequently be utilized as desired. Tonex CS is free and includes a couple of dozen tone models, approximately a dozen amplifiers, and five pedals, which are sufficient for a trial run.
Tonex SE, Tonex, and Tonex MAX follow, each with a different number of models, with MAX containing the most material. Tone Capture is included in all paid versions and allows you to capture sounds from your own equipment.
The software is available as both a standalone app and an AU plugin for all major DAWs for Mac and PC. All versions communicate with one another, and the model collection is accessible on any device.
IK Multimedia has been replicating guitar hardware for years; the modeling here is of great quality. Before TONEX, they had AmpliTube, which became an industry standard.
