I discovered a fantastic open-source picture viewer: PicView, a small tool. I used to rely on regular Windows 10 solutions, but they were always slow and inflexible. Everything is different here: the program opens even large image files swiftly and causes no visible system burden. The design is quite simple, but the functionality is outstanding. I am honestly satisfied.
It can show photos in full-screen mode without using additional buttons. Hotkeys function well; press Alt + Z, and only the image remains on the screen. Using the T key, you can select whether transparent backgrounds should be displayed as a checkerboard, dark, or white. There are approximately 30 filter options, including vintage and adverse film effects. All filters are applied in real time, and the results can be saved or copied to the clipboard. A tremendous benefit is that filters are also available when using photographs as desktop backgrounds.
PicView supports a wide variety of formats, including both common ones like JPG and PNG and rarer ones like RAW, SVG, and PSD. Very exotic files may open somewhat slower on occasion, but this is uncommon and not a significant concern. The following editing tools are included: rotation, cropping, and format conversion. Drag-and-drop capability is valuable; you can drag files, folders, and links directly into the program window. Drop an archive, and PicView will extract its contents and display them.

The most significant disadvantage is the lack of advanced tools, such as layers and curves. However, color reproduction is accurate, and there is a built-in color picker for capturing color codes. The interface is customisable, allowing you to remove borders, hide panels, and leave only the canvas exposed, providing a lot of space. The download link is provided in the news item below.
After a few days of use, I only had positive impressions. If you require a quick image reader with no heavy, complex features but support for specific formats, you are welcome to test it; you will most likely appreciate it. PicView is a dream come true for everyone who enjoys customizing and open-source software. In terms of speed and stability, it exceeds most paid competitors.
