PrestoSoft developed ExamDiff, a visual file- and directory-comparison tool. It has been around since 1998 and is a true veteran. It allows you to identify differences between file versions, synchronize folders, and analyze code changes.
After a comparison, the disparities are evident. A clear scroll bar lets you examine both files side by side, with the corresponding portions automatically aligned. Differences are color-coded, with green for additions, red for removals, and yellow for alterations. You can use buttons to traverse between differences, making it quick and easy to see all detected changes. The user-friendly layout lets you quickly and easily navigate through all detected changes.

It compares the contents of two directories. Once the process is completed, you will only view files in one of the folders. Comparisons are made using a variety of criteria, including file contents, modification date, size, and a combination of all parameters. The results are presented in a table with status indicators.
A professional edition is available that lets you edit files right in the window. It is now much easier to copy changes from one file to another with a single click.
Syntax highlighting is available in a variety of programming languages, including C, C++, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, HTML, and others. This makes it easy to comprehend code and understand the context behind changes.
The application can compare binary files using hexadecimal notation.
To make ExamDiff work correctly, you must first activate it. The software is highly popular among specific groups and offers a wide range of customization options for its functionality. Its features include recursive comparison, customized selection processes, quick binary file comparison, and support for HTML documents. ExamDiff may search and substitute certain words or sentences. It’s also worth noting that the program works with the Windows Explorer context menu. You can also take a snapshot of a directory for future comparison.
Overall, I don’t have much more to say about this editor. The lack of Russian backing is sad and inconvenient. Although comparing two text files does not involve much effort, it is not a significant disadvantage. I hope the program helps you with your work. Do not forget to post comments. Have a wonderful day, everyone!
